Between Two Worlds I
2026 · Oil on canvas · 100 × 120 cm · Invisible Imprisonments · Available
The painting places an angel on the boundary between two worldviews. In one, the unseen is a natural part of existence; in the other, certainty is sought in what can be measured and proved. The angel’s wings remain, but the connection with humanity has been broken. Humanity’s gaze has turned elsewhere. What people once turned to for hope or comfort has been left waiting. The angel does not disappear as faith weakens, but its presence alone is no longer enough for an encounter to take place. To be between two worlds here means an unanswered possibility of closeness. The painting does not demand a return to faith. It asks what is excluded from our understanding of the world when we acknowledge only what we can explain.
